Community Guidelines

Crafted Pour is built by bartenders and cocktail creators who share their craft with a community that appreciates it. We want you to set up your content the way you want it — your recipes, your style, your voice. These guidelines exist to keep the community welcoming and the content authentic.

Community Standards

The Rules

These are the only things that will get content removed:

  • No hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language
  • No promotion of unsafe or excessive drinking (e.g., drinking games that encourage overconsumption)
  • No explicit sexual content or graphic violence
  • No spam, plagiarized content, or misleading claims

This is a 21+ spirits platform. Alcohol references, humor, playful language, pop culture references, and casual tone are all welcome.

Authenticity Policy

Crafted Pour is a platform for authentic content created by real bartenders and cocktail creators. We strongly discourage:

  • AI-generated recipes — Recipes should come from real experience behind the bar, not a chatbot. If we determine a recipe was generated by AI, it may be flagged or removed.
  • AI-generated imagery — Photos should be real. Stock photos, AI-generated images, and heavily manipulated photos don't represent the craft and may be removed.

We use AI behind the scenes to help with quality scoring, tag suggestions, and editorial polish — but the recipes and photos should always come from you.

Responsible Drinking

Crafted Pour celebrates the craft of cocktail making, not excessive consumption. All content should reflect responsible enjoyment of spirits. We reserve the right to remove content that glorifies overconsumption, targets minors, or makes health claims about alcoholic beverages.

Best Practices

These aren't requirements, but they'll make your recipes better and help them get discovered.

Recipe Tips

  • Exact measurements help others reproduce your drink — "1.5 oz" is more useful than "a splash"
  • Specify your build method — shaken, stirred, built? It matters for the result
  • Name your glass and garnish — it completes the picture
  • If you use homemade ingredients, consider including the sub-recipe so others can try it

Description Tips

  • Tell the story — What inspired this cocktail? Why does this combination work? The best recipes on the platform have personality.

Photo Tips

  • Show the finished cocktail — At least one clear, well-lit photo of the drink
  • Skip the filters — Let the cocktail speak for itself
  • One copy per photo — No need to upload the same image twice

Tastemaker Program

Tastemakers are featured creators who partner with brands on the platform. The Tastemaker program is opt-in — you choose to participate and, in return, get featured placement and access to our affiliate commission program.

Requirements

When featuring a partner brand's product, Tastemaker recipes must meet these standards:

  1. Cover photo must include the partner product — Show the finished cocktail alongside the featured bottle
  2. Include a standalone cocktail photo — At least one image of just the drink
  3. No competing brands — Don't tag or prominently feature competing brands in the same product category
  4. Social media — Tag the partner brand's handle and use any required campaign hashtags
  5. Natural integration — Mention the partner product authentically in your description and caption

Affiliate Commissions

Crafted Pour's affiliate commission program is available exclusively to Tastemaker creators. To be eligible:

  • You must be enrolled in the Tastemaker program
  • Your recipes featuring partner products must comply with the Tastemaker guidelines above
  • Recipes that don't meet these standards won't qualify for affiliate commissions

The Tastemaker program is how you turn great content into real revenue. Meet the guidelines, get featured, earn commissions.

AI-Assisted Quality

We use AI tools to help maintain quality across the platform:

  • Quality scoring — Recipes are scored on balance, technique, and other criteria to help surface great content
  • Tag suggestions — AI may suggest tags to help your recipe get discovered
  • Coaching feedback — You may receive constructive suggestions to improve your recipes
  • Editorial polish — We may suggest spelling or grammar corrections while preserving your voice

All AI suggestions are reviewed by our team before being applied. The AI helps — but the recipes are yours.
