Para Mis Abuelos

I wanted to dedicate this cocktail to my grandparents, who have all since passed (two passed this year). It’s tradition that, on Dia De Los Muertos, Marigolds were used to guide spirits to the Offrenda, using their vibrant colors and aromatic scent. To keeping with tradition and to honor their lives...Here’s to Mis Abuelos.


1½ oz Tequila Blanco
½ oz Marigold Infused Patron Citronge Orange
¾ oz Pumpkin Seed Orgeat
1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
Angostura Bitters Float


Place Tequila, Marigold Infused Patron Citronge Orange, Pumpkin Seed Orgeat, Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice into cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain liquid into a rocks glass fill with ice and add 3 long dashes of Angostura Bitters on top. Garnish with Edible Flowers and Sugar Skull.

Pumpkin Seed Orgeat
1 Cup Toasted Pumpkin Seeds (toast seeds on bakers’ sheet for 10 minutes on 350 degrees in oven)
2 Cups Water

Blend in blender on high speed for 5 minutes. Use cheesecloth to strain pumpkin milk. Add equal amounts of sugar to pumpkin milk and place in saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Store in refrigerator until use.

Marigold Infused Patron Citronge
2 Marigold Flowers (no stem), rinsed
8 oz Patron Citronge Orange Liqueur

Place ingredients into a blender, blend on high for 30 seconds. Strain marigold flowers from liquid. Store in refrigerator until use.
