Brandy Crusta

A classic New Orleans cocktail that predates even the Sazerac. It's notable that we call it a Brandy Crusta, as -- much like many other drink categories -- the "Crusta" can be made with an array of different base spirits. But that distinctive collar of lemon peel and the generously sugar-crusted rim are signature elements of the original. The result is a delicious, spirit-forward drink that is both eyecatchingly unique and comfortingly familiar in flavor, especially if you are fond of the Sidecar, a later cousin of this very sippable serve.

1½ oz Cognac

½ oz Lemon Juice

¼ oz Luxardo Maraschino

¼ oz Rich Simple

2 dashes Aromatic Bitters

Shake/Strain into Coupe or Cocktail Glass. Garnish with Sugar Rim and Large Lemon Peel.
