The Algonquin Hotel in New York became the lunchtime gathering spot for an interesting group in its time.  Started as a bit of a roast and practical joke, a group of writers, journalists, and creatives began meeting for lunch each day beginning around 1919.  As the group grew, a larger round table in the hotel’s Rose Room was used.  A caricature of the grew by cartoonist Edmund Duffy in the Brooklyn Eagle portrayed the group sitting around a round table and wearing armor.


The drink itself is a refreshing take on Rye Whiskey with a hint of tropical fruit and arromatics.

Ingredients

2 oz Rye Whiskey

1 oz Dry Vermouth

1 oz Pineapple Juice

¼ oz Simple Syrup

Instructions

Shake/Strain into Coupe.  Garnish with Cherry.
